Pacific Bonsai and Suiseki
Convention Convened in Jintan,
Jiangsu Province, China

The combined 7th World Bonsai Friendship Federa-
tion and the 12th Asia Pacific Bonsai and Suiseki Con-
vention convened In Jintan, Jiangsu Province, China
on September 25, 2013. Approximately 800 people
from 36 countries participated in the opening day’s events. The combined meet-
ing was held in the newly constructed 2,000 acre Baoshan Garden.
The new Bonsai Museum of Baoshan Garden officially opened to the public at
this convention. Two large buildings, an outdoor display area, and a greenhouse
complex for tropical trees comprise the 6.5 acre bonsai museum. A total of 530
trees were on display along with an exhibit of Chinese viewing stones.
On the afternoon of the first day, China’ three great recognized penjing masters,
Hu Leguo, Zhao Qingquan, and Wu Chengfa conducted demonstrations for the
participants.
