The tree was again allowed to grow freely
                                                                                 and it was fertilized copiously throughout
                                                                                 the season to recover after the repotting as
                                                                                 some of the roots had been bent to fit in the
                                                                                 new position in the pot. It is now fall of 2013
                                                                                 and the pine is ready for a new style—all
                                                                                 the old pine needles are cleaned thanks to
                                                                                 Milan—and the branches are ready to be
                                                                                 wired and set. (6).

                                                                                  Thinking about the final composition,
                                                                                  some branches are eliminated that along
                                                                                  the years had been left there to fill in voids.
                                                                                  Removing some branches, however, un-
                                                                                  derlines and accentuates the movement of
                                                                                  the trunk and allows a play of shadows and
                                                                                  light with the remaining branches. (7–10).
