Of the forty displays at the exhibition, four received
awards. Ed Lauer won “Best Winter Silhouette,” Brian
Mercer and Brad Russell won “Best Conifer,” Joseph
Noga won “Best Fruiting Bonsai,” and Don Kimball
won “People’s Choice Award.
The exhibition had a number of excellent seedling-grown
Pseudocydonia sinensis. While it takes far longer to attain flowers/
fruit on seed-grown quince, the finer branching and smaller
foliage makes designs like these possible.
