At the Award Banquet and Benefit Auction two spe-
cial awards were presented. A Lifetime Achievement
Award was given to Hideko Metaxas from Larkspur,
California, for her leadership, promotion, education
and artistry of bonsai, suiseki and ikebana. Kathy Sha-
ner from San Jose, California was presented a Cer-
tificate of Recognition for her enthusiastic teaching,
promotion and sharing of bonsai artistry- skill-knowl-
edge. Finally the valued volunteers were recognized
