others have already achieved a good level of maturity.
Bonsai practice has grown greatly in recent years in
Sicily thanks to the ongoing teaching of expert in-
structors and the enthusiasm and passion in the air.
Many prizes were awarded and I had the pleasure of
presenting two BCI Awards of Excellence to a Phoe-
nician juniper by Vito Miano and to a Sicilian stone,
the Cormorant, with expressive and communicative
power, found and owned by Mimmo Abate.
