he All India Bonsai Convention & Exhibition was a great event. International
invited Demonstrators were Budi Sulistyo from Indonesia, Koji Hiramatsu from
Japan, Chen Wenjuan from China, Lindsay & Glenis Bebb from Australia and
Rob Kempinski from USA. Other international Guests were Naemi Iwasaki and
Keiko Matsuji from Japan and Mr. Xin Changbao and his wife and translator from
TChina. Local Demonstrators were Nikunj and Jyoti Parekh.
Several groups performed traditional dances as part The Convention Organizers were Nikunj and Jyoti Parekh, founders of the Bonsai Study
of the official opening. Group of the Indo-Japanese Association and Mrs. Chanda Agarwal, Founder-President of
the Banyan Bonsai Club of Vadodara. They were supported by a fantastic group of helpers.
The Convention consisted of a Bonsai Exhibition, Bonsai Photographic Display, demonstra-
tions, workshops, discussion panel, New Talent Contest and Bazaar.
On arrival at the convention venue one day prior to the opening we went to look at the
demonstration and workshop material. The main hall was still under construction! See the
