rain. For some in the group,
it was a second trip in five
years to revisit this wonderful,
well tended exhibit. The rain
seemed to have added an
extra sparkle to the pines.
Middle right, bottom left and
right; In the afternoon we
were treated to an excursion
to Liu Hua West, the home of
the Guangzhou Bonsai Group.
An old mansion, filled with
exquisite bonsai, viewing
stones and ceramics was the
entry to an enchanted garden
with lakes and fabulous trees.
The first day brought the group to Panyu Chu Kong
Pipe Co. Ltd, Jin Long Bonsai garden in the Pearl River
Valley. Acres and acres of subtropical bonsai trees in
training and an enormous display and exhibition area
awaited us. As far as the eyes could reach, extraor-
dinary examples of Lingnan style penjing were dis-
played. Their beauty and variety was overwhelming
and the time was too short to see them all.
In the afternoon we visited Peihong Primary School,
base of Guangzhou Lingnan Bonsai Intangible Cultural
